Tantric Sex texts recognise eight aspects of sexual intercourse.

1. Smarnanam. Sexual thoughts are allowed to develop in the brain.
2. Kirtanam. Mentally imaging sexual acts possible in the circumstances.
3. Keli. Finding a suitable sex partner.
4. Prekshenam. Exhibitionism which includes flirting, gaining attention and joining energy with your chosen sex partner.
5. Guhya-bhashanam. Intimate acceptance and agreement with chosen sex partner so that they understand and are willing participants in the sex act. Can be vocal or non vocal and involve expressive touching.
6. Samkalpa. Following intimate acceptance, deliberate touching creating arousal needed for the functioning of higher power liberation.
7. Adhyavasayam. Plateau of foreplay. Each partner now desires full wet sexual contact and orgasmic relief.
8. Kriyanishpatti. Full wet sexual contact with unrestrained sexual activity leading toward explosive Tantric Sex orgasm.
